Giveaway! Five Pairs of Bohoblossom Earrings!

Happy Monday everyone! I know “happy” and “Monday” don’t always go hand-in-hand. So if you’ve got a case of what I call, “the Mondays,” I’ve got a nice treat in store for you today! It’s a giveaway! It’s been awhile, huh?
Okay, without further ado, let’s get on with the goodies! Meet Lauren, founder and designer of Bohoblossoms!

I am Lauren Walker and I am the crafty creator of Bohoblossoms! I was the kind of kid growing up that would invite friends over… for craft time. Not much has changed!

As a newlywed (we will be celebrating two years in September… that is still considered newlywed… right?), I was searching for a new craft to turn my passions to. Bright colors and statement jewelry all came together in my creation of bohoblossoms! With just over four months of having my shop open on Etsy, I have fallen head over heels in love with these blooms! I’ve been blessed to create earrings for a bride and her bridesmaids, special earrings for a baby shower, and create custom packaging to make gifts of the heart that much more special !

My newest creation is a fun interchangeable dangle earring: flower flips! By attaching little bails to the backs of my flowers, you are able to just slip the flowers on and off to style your dangles!

I’m so excited to give away 5 pairs of bohoblossoms! Included in this giveaway are white and purple post earrings, yellow rose dangles, as well as pink flower flips with a pair of blue flowers to slip on as well!
I really hope you enjoy these bright earrings as much as I do!
Head over to Bohoblossoms now and receive 10% off using the code scissorsnspatulas10
Are you digging these earrings as much as I am? I love them all, but I have to say that the blue pair made for the bride are my favorite! What a special gift!
As Lauren said, one of my lucky readers is going to win five pairs of earrings from Bohoblossoms. FIVE pairs!

Touches of New Decor

After Christmas, when I take down all the trees, lights and other decorations, my house feels empty. It looked the same before all the Christmas decorations went up. It didn’t bother me then. Yet every year when the Christmas decor comes down, the house feels bare. So I get the urge to shop and to do some re-decorating.

One trip to my favorite home decor store spruced up my family room. I’ve told you before how much I love Kirkland’s! You might remember when I changed my dining room, most of the decor came from Kirkland’s. So what did I get? Just a few items that really made a big impact and help fill the “void”  the Christmas decor has left behind.

This beautiful new lamp. It’s large size helped fill some empty space. I got a great deal on it because it was broken. You know I’m always looking for a bargain!

I hid the crack by turning it towards the wall. You’d never know!

I found these two candlesticks at Homegoods {my other favorite store for home decor}. I knew I needed something with more height to sit along side them. These matching floral arrangements {from Kirkland’s} were prefect! They were on sale so I got both for about $80.

Then the table behind the sofa. I have struggled with this table and often change the decor. I found this small, but bright arrangement and a large frame that fit well in one corner of the table. Both were on sale and the total was about $20.

One trip to Kirklands, about $150 and I have a new family room!

One area I wasn’t planning on changing was my foyer chest. I purchased this beautiful antique chest over the summer at a yard sale for $35! The green lamp on top was my grandma’s. I just love it! But. . .

hubby broke it when he was carrying a mattress up the steps. He tried to glue it, but it’s just not the same. I’m trying not to be mad at him.

Luckily, that same week, Kirkland’s sent me a nice little surprise in the mail! A lamp from their 2012 collection!

It’s a whole new look for my foyer table, but I like it! Very bright and fresh! Thank you so much Kirkland’s!

Are you suddenly feeing the urge to do some shopping at Kirkland’s? I have good news for you! Along with the lamp, Kirkland’s gave me a $50 gift certificate to give to one of my readers! You can do a lot with $50 at this store!

How do you enter?

    • Stop by Kirkland’s online and do some browsing. You’re gonna like what you see! Come back and tell me what you would buy if you win.  {1 entry}

That’s right! Today I’ve got a giveaway you don’t want to miss! Jill is a friend of mine and the creator of Honeycombs Cookie Company. You would never know this is a new business for Jill. Her cookies look and taste amazing! Truly a work of art! Let me introduce you to Jill. . .

Hi! I’m Jill and I’m the owner/head decorator/official “taste-tester” of Honeycombs Cookie Company!  I create hand-decorated sugar cookies, cupcakes, cake pops, and cakes.  I got into this business when I was searching online for birthday cake ideas for my son’s first birthday this past September.  I remember seeing some adorable fish cookies and I thought, Hey! I could do this!  Since then, and my own fish cookies, I’ve been very busy creating new sweets (and enjoying every extra crumb, too!).

My ‘classic’ cookie flavor is lemon-sugar, but so far, I also make cookies in peppermint and chocolate-mocha flavors.  My cake pop flavors are vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, lemon, and red velvet.  Both cookies and cake pops can be decorated in just about any design that my clients need….I find a lot of great ideas on Pinterest!

Visit my website www.honeycombscookies.com and be sure to like me on Facebook at Honeycombs Cookie Company.  I ship both my cookies and cake pops!

Today Jill is offering one of Scissors & Spatulas’ readers one dozen cookies for Valentine’s Day! Aren’t they darling?

You can give them to your sweetheart and loved ones because you will get them just in time for Valentine’s Day. But be sure to save one (or a few) for yourself because you will regret it if you don’t!

Giveaway Monday with My Memories!

I was recently contacted by a rep from My Memories. If you are not familiar with My Memories, it’s digital scrapbook software to create scrapbook pages and albums on your computer.
I wasn’t really sure I would like using a digital studio to create album pages, because I really do enjoy scrapbooking with paper. However, My Memories made creating an album online pretty fun. In fact, once I really figured out what I was doing, I had a hard time pulling myself away from the program. It was so easy and the software offered so many options for layouts, papers and embellishments. The best part? When I was done, I just closed my computer. No little scraps, no sticky glue, no mess at all!
Check out a couple of pages I made yesterday. Since it’s Christmastime, I wanted to get started on a few holiday pages.

I did not add any embellishments but My Memories online software also comes with tons of embellishments {bows, buttons, brads, etc} in every color imaginable. The possibilities are endless!
You can also make very basic collages with multiple photos. These are a great to share photos from outings, events, or even an entire year with family and friends! This one took me all of five minutes! Very easy!
{BTW, Lazy 5 Ranch is an amazing place in Mooresville, NC where you can see, touch and feed some amazing, out-of-the-ordinary animals!)
At My Memories online shop you can purchase additional supplies and designer kits for your online studio. A kit gives you anything you need to create an entire album. Here are two of my favorites.
Christmas designer pack

Aren’t they cute?!
Well guess what? My Memories would like to offer one of Scissors & Spatulas’ readers the My Memories Suite V3 Software  for digital scrapbooking for FREE!
How do you enter?
*Please be a FOLLOWER of SCISSORS & SPATULAS*
Why? Because you may miss the winner announcement and therefore miss out on YOUR prize. Trust me, it’s happened before – a lot!
I’m going to give you a lot of chances to enter! You can do one or you can do all!

Today is THE Day and a Giveaway!

I have a couple of announcements to make today. . .

First, today marks the official birthday of Scissors & Spatulas!!!
That’s right, one year ago today, due to persuasions from my hubby, I sat down to write my first ever blog post. I hadn’t a clue what I was doing, but according to the hubs {who is also a software and web developer}, I needed a blog. Three plus hours later, I finished the post titled, Super Easy Sunday Supper.

The dinner was quick and easy, the posting process was not! But that was a year ago and I’m happy to say that it has gotten much easier now that I know what I’m doing {or at least I think I know what I’m doing}. Unfortunately it still takes me FOREVER to write a post {I’m a perfectionist}, but that’s okay because I love what I’m doing! Creating this blog was the BEST idea my hubby ever had! That Sunday night, the night I wrote that first post, I had NO idea that Scissors & Spatulas would open so many doors and bring me so much happiness. More on that later. . .

Next, I’m sharing my “Wickedly Cute Treat Bags” as part of the Monster Craft Bash over at Pocket Full of Pink today.

If you get a chance, stop by to see the tutorial and check out some of the other participants’ projects.

Finally, it’s time for another giveaway!

You see, Amy hosts this contest on her site, Naptime Crafters, where crafters submit projects for competition and these projects are voted on by the readers. In fact, Season 3 of American Crafter is going on right now, and I’m a judge!

Amy is a wife and a mama who loves to craft but finds it hard {like the rest of us} to find time to do so. When the wee one goes down, the craft supplies come out! Amy doesn’t just have a blog, she also has a shop Peek-a-Boo Patterns.

Check out a few of my favorites from her collection.
    Beware: super cuteness ahead!

Image of Evelyn Dress and Swing Top: Sizes 18 mos.-8 Years
Image of Peep Toe Booties: 0-18 mos.
Image of Retro Romper: Sizes 3 mos.-4t
    Told you they were cute! Do you think they would look as cute on my boys? {just kidding}
Most of her patterns are available in different sizes.
To help celebrate, Amy is offering three patterns from her shop!
    Hip hip hooray!!

Bloggy Birthday Giveaway: Flamingo Toes Designs

Hi friends! It’s day two of Scissors & Spatulas bloggy birthday bash! If you missed the news yesterday, Scissors & Spatulas turns one this week! I’ve got a week full of surprises including lots of giveaways! Be sure to stop by to enter the Graphique and Vinyl Crafts giveaways that kicked off our celebration yesterday!
Today I have another great giveaway in store for you from Flamingo Toes Designs
I met Bev, the fabulous DIYer behind the scenes of FTD, at Creative Estates this past April. She is one fun gal and by the end of the weekend I felt like we were old pals! You might remember the post I shared about the Anthro inspired necklace that we made with Bev at Creative Estates.

Can you tell the difference? I will tell you one difference – the price tag! You can find more knock-offs like this and many other awesome projects over at Flamingo Toes blog.

Let me introduce you to the fabulous Bev. . .
My name is Bev and I’m so excited to be a part of celebrating Jen’s Blogiversary!! I was lucky enough to meet Jen last April, and I can honestly say she is as pretty, funny, and sweet in real life as she is on her blog. :) I have a blog called Flamingo Toes and I also have an Etsy Shop called Flamingo Toes Designs.

I love making things – it’s so fun to sit down in the evenings and create new jewelry items or things for the home while I’m watching obnoxious reality tv shows. ;)I’m also a fairly fickle crafter. I don’t really like to make things over and over and over. So my shop is my place to try new designs and make little things to sell in my spare time! Here are a few of the things in my Shop right now!
      Sweet Little Birds Necklace
    Shades of Blue Hoop Earrings
    Rose Ribbon Nest Ring
    Pearls and Flower Necklace
This is my favorite from her shop. . .

Linen Rhinestone & Pearl Bow Bracelet
    Aren’t they gorgeous?!
Wanna do some shopping on her site? Well, you’re in luck! Bev is giving one of Scissors & Spatulas’ readers a $30 credit to her shop!

Let the Celebration Begin! Graphique Giveaway!

That’s right! It’s Scissors & Spatulas first birthday! Like I said earlier this morning, as a way of saying thank you to all my readers, I have lots of surprises for you this week.
Are you ready for your first surprise?
I’m kicking off the celebration with a giveaway from Graphique Images!

Some of you may remember that I was a runner-up in last season’s American Crafter. That was a fun {and challenging} competition! Included in my prize package was 15 images of my choice from Graphique. At the time, I’d never heard of this shop on Etsy. It’s now one of my favorites!
Graphique has so many amazing images available to download! I’m not kidding, I’ve spent many hours browsing {and purchasing from} this Etsy shop! Here are a couple of my favorite images from my collection.

Graphique also has a great selection of French prints, holiday images and much more! These images are downloaded to your computer and can be used for a variety of things. They can be used for pillows, tea towels, framed art and so much more! These images can also be used with the Silhouette SD. I cut out the vinyl witch image from Graphique that I used on my pumpkin!
Like what you see? You’re in luck! Graphique is offering 25 images to one of Scissors & Spatulas’ readers! Here is how you can enter. . .

    Trendy Trinket Giveaway!!

I hope you all had a fantastic weekend! What better way to get rid of that “case of the Mondays” than with a giveaway?
Have you heard of Trendy Trinket?
Trendy Trinket is handmade fashion jewelry for everyday!
Let me introduce you to the ladies of Trendy Trinket. . .

“We are great friends and stay at home moms having fun doing girl stuff. We LOVE jewelry, creating, color (we love a great can of spray paint!) and items with a vintage flair.
Who doesn’t want a little bling at an affordable price? We are always looking for great colors and amazing textures. For us, having something unique, different and beautiful is what it’s all about!”

I met these lovely ladies at the Creative Estates Handmade Market. I was looking for a necklace for my mom for Mother’s Day and wound up standing in front of their booth for quite a long time. It was so hard to decide, they were all beautiful! In the end, I walked away with a fabulous necklace! Their jewelry is not only beautiful, but it is whimsical and unique.

Whether you like classic, hand-stamped or vintage pieces, there is something for everyone at Trendy Trinket.

    Monday Giveaway from Me!

Happy Monday everyone! I’ve told you how much I dislike Mondays. They bring me back to the real world after fun weekends spent with family and friends. Blah! So I thought that this Monday needed a little something to get us all jump-started for the week. Something exciting. What could be more exciting than a giveaway?!

I’ve had several inquiries about my labeled canisters asking if I’d make them and sell them. Unfortunately, all but one of those readers, failed to leave me their email to reply. That makes me sad because I love responding to my readers and I would have loved to make them the labels! So, I have decided to set up a shop and sell these puppies {along with other items}. It might take me a week or so to get it all together and online, but I thought a great start would be to give one of my readers a set of three canister labels customized to your needs.
    Hip-hip-hooray!

    Okay, ready to get started?

Happy Monday! I’ve got some exciting news for you. Today is a giveaway day! Yay!
A couple months ago, I “met” Natalie. When I say met, I mean through emails, her commenting on my blog, and me snooping around her blog, Johnny in a Dress. What’s cool is that she lives only an hour away from me, which is exciting because creative bloggers are hard to find in the Carolinas. So one day I know I will actually get to meet her {for real} in person! Let me introduce you to Natalie. . .

    Hey!

I am Natalie, the girl behind Johnny In A Dress!
I am a Christian, Wife and Mother. My days are spent doing different therapies with my son, who has Cerebral Palsy, and picking up after my daughter, whose favorite activity at the moment is to to see how fast she can wreck our entire house. Over at Johnny In A Dress you will find crafty tutorials mixed in with glimpses of my day to day family life! I try to squeeze in a craft anytime I can, it’s my comfort in this chaotic world. Johnny In A Dress has become my journal and I would love for you to stop by!

You must stop by Johnny in a Dress! You will find fun, cute and super creative ideas! Check out what she’s done for her little ones’ playroom.

A Case of the Mondays and (get ready for it) A Giveaway!!

    Happy Monday Everyone!
When you hear the word Monday does it automatically make you go, “Ugh?” Do you have case of the Mondays every Monday? {Office Space, in case you didn’t get that one.} I do! I don’t know why. It’s not like I have to get up and go to work. I think it’s because I love having hubby home over the weekend and, well, I just love the weekend.
If you have a case of the Mondays today, I’ve got news for you. Today, I’m featuring Becky, from Vinyl Crafts. Let me introduce you to Becky. . .

    “I am happily married to an amazing man and mom to eight incredible children {baby number nine is due in just a few weeks}.   My days are filled with all the wonders, joys and frustrations that come with a house full of people ranging in age from teenagers to babies.    The creative outlet my etsy shop provides helps balance out my sanity.   Well . . . that and chocolate.  And my love of running.  {necessitated by the aforementioned love of chocolate.}

I have taken my love for home décor and my love of crafts and combined them to produce the items in my shop. I also love the opportunity to do custom work and collaborate on making things of beauty.”

Becky creates a variety of handmade items including wooden signs, vinyl lettering, and subway art. She has some fantastic pieces on her site but she also does custom orders.
Here are a few of my favorites:

List your “Family Rules“with this wooden subway art. So clever!
How elegant is this hand-painted “Chandelier Silhouette“? Loving it!
This “Personalized Subway Art” would make a great birthday present for a little one!
And she has so many more to choose from!

Move over Monday blues, Becky wants to give one of you $50 to her shop! Fifty bucks! Yay!
