Wednesday’s Whip Up

Alrighty, I have another new series for you here on Scissors and Spatulas! I’m calling it Wednesday’s Whip Up.
You all know I’ve been busy (doing God knows what) and have not been posting as often (okay, ever).  I miss you all and I miss blogging! It’s not that I haven’t been working on anything. I am actually currently working on several large projects but haven’t finished anything to post yet. Of course, at the same time, I’m always doing little projects here and there but I don’t always share them. The reason? I don’t always think they are blog worthy. I feel some are just too simple and no one needs step-by-step for such a simple project.
Byt then I realized, if I can do a post, any post, it’s better than no post! And that’s where I came up with Wednesday’s Whip Up. These aren’t going to be anything special or out of the ordinary. Just simple projects that I’m working on. Welcome to Wednesday’s Whip Up where I’ll share quick and easy crafts! Here is the first. . .

I ‘m not sure what this is called, but I like to call it my messenger basket. I used it at Christmas to hold Christmas cards. Anyway, whatever it is, I had been looking at these for a while, but they can be pricey. I finally found one for a great deal.

But I didn’t like the rope on it, it was a strange color. But I knew I could fix it. So, I cut it off.

But I couldn’t stop there. So I sprayed it a light yellow-gold.

I didn’t really put a heavy coat of paint on it because. . .

I planned on sanding it. Why? Because I sand everything I paint!

Then I needed to replace the strap. I used my favorite Stampin’ Up! ribbon (which is now retired – don’t know why!).

I tied one large knot to secure it.

But it wasn’t quite finished. I ran out to the back yard and grabbed some sticks.

Mission accomplished! My “messenger bag” is complete!

Perfect for my gossip table! BTW, did you notice I re-did my gossip chair? Check out the transformation. . .

See, I’ve been working on stuff! :)
