Happy Friday, my friends! I hope you are as happy as I am that the weekend is finally here! This is not a tutorial for some great new recipe I’ve tried. It’s not some cool thing I created with a piece of junk. Nope, it’s just another on of those posts where I ramble on about me, my life, my readers, and my blog. Oh yeah, and I’m pretty sure there will be a whole lotta complaining in here. I’ll apologize ahead of time. SORRY!
The truth is that I’m sitting here on the couch on this Friday night checking my Google Reader for the first time in FOREVER! Reading some posts from my favorite blogs reminded me why I started blogging in the first place and it also reminded me how much I enjoy(ed) reading other blogs. That realization sent me over to Pinterest. A place I love but have not visited in a couple weeks. A place I have missed!
The truth is that I’ve been busy. I’ve been very busy. I’m sure you’ve noticed that I have not been posting nearly as much as I used to. Although I don’t feel it is necessary to post every day, twice a week is really lame. I’m sure you’ve noticed all the guests I’ve had (eternally grateful to them) and the sponsored posts and giveaways. I never wanted to turn into THAT blog. That blog where the actual blogger was absent. That blog where it was all giveaways and advertisements. In fact, those are the blogs I stop reading. I’ve dropped several of my favorites when they became THAT blog.
I’m not going to say that I haven’t enjoyed being contacted by companies that make products I love. I’m not complaining about a little extra money in the bank. I never started a blog to make money. It was never my goal. It was never my purpose. It still is not my reason for doing this. I have told y’all many times that I love to create, design and challenge myself with DIY projects. The blog is just my way of sharing these things with others. I do this because of the amazing response and encouragement I’ve gotten from YOU! I love knowing that simple things I do can inspire others and this is what drives me to create!
But lately I’ve been busy with something new. Something unexpected. Something that has been very successful for me. You may remember my “Ready to Pop” favors from a baby shower I helped throw last April. Well I had a lot of inquiries about these favors since then. They no longer sell the original boxes I purchased from Hobby Lobby, so I started making them. Then they exploded on Pinterest! The orders have been coming in and I’ve been working on these favors day and night! It’s been great. But I’ve had no time for anything else. My house is a wreck, I continue to go to the store and buy supplies for these “fabulous” ideas I have but don’t get around to completing (or starting) these projects). I also have a garage full of thrifty finds that I’m dying to transform!
Where am I going with this post? I don’t know. I guess I just want you to know that I have not forgotten about my blog. I have not forgotten about my readers. And I’ve not forgotten about the handful of projects that I’m itching to do. I’m merely trying to play catch up on the favor box orders. I’m learning the ropes of having a shop. I’m learning how much time it actually takes. And I’m learning how to make the most of my time and juggle everything else.
What I’m saying is, please hang in there. Please don’t abandon me! I haven’t forgotten my readers and I haven’t lost my purpose or goals. I hope I’ll be caught up and back on track soon. I still want my gallery wall, my “mudroom” and I have an idea for my coat closet to simplify my life. I’ also m still working on the boys’ new room. I don’t think I ever mentioned it, but they got bunk beds for Christmas and moved into the same room! (No, I’m not pregnant – yet!) Just bear with me a little longer and I’ll be back. I promise!
I hope you have a great weekend! Thank you in advance for always lifting me up with your sweet comments!
