The wedge salad. One short word – YUM! There is something about the combination of crisp, juicy iceberg lettuce; crunchy, salty bacon; bitter blue cheese and creamy dressing that makes the wedge irresistible! Are you craving one yet? Well, tonight I was. Unfortunately I didn’t have all the ingredients I needed to make the traditional wedge described above. And when I have a craving, it needs to be satisfied! So I improvised and actually came up with a pretty good imitation.
Ladies and gentlemen, I introduce to you. . .
The wedge with a twist.
Looks a lot like the real deal, right? You’ve got the crisp iceberg lettuce and the crunchy bacon like the original. Here is the twist: I used feta cheese crumbles and Marzetti’s ranch dressing.
It was fantastic! And it satisfied my craving. I urge you to try one.
The Wedge With a Twist
1 head iceberg lettuce, cored and cut into four equal segments
1 cup cooked bacon, crumbled
1 cup crumbled feta cheese
1 jar Marzettie’s ranch dressing
For each serving: One lettuce wedge topped with 1/4 cup each, bacon and feta. Using a spoon, drizzle the desired amount of dressing over the top. Enjoy!
